Village Hall (The Maidfordians)

(The Maidfordians have now been almalgametd with the Village Hall Activities planning)


A variety of activities are planned for the year both social and educational so it is likely there will be something of interest to appeal to most people.Details of the coming events  are always in the village newsletter  and on posters placed around the village about two weeks before the event.Below is a list of events planned for the next few months

In the Garden Club

The Maidford in the Garden Club welcomes all those who have a garden, large or small or even a window box.   If you are interested in gardening and wish to learn more, or just chat about gardening, then come and join us for a friendly and sociable get-together We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 7.15.pm for 7.30.pm. in the Village Hall. Just pop in.

There is a varied and interesting programme with guest speakers, practical evenings and visits of interest arranged to local gardening establishments.

There is also an Annual Gardening Show/Competition in early September and is open to everyone.

Film Club

Every month Maidford Film Society, under the auspices of the Maidford Village Hall committee, presents big screen feature films in the village hall.  Under the terms of our licence, entry to view films is by membership only and forthcoming films are advertised to members only.  Membership is free and if you would like to become a member and receive information about our monthly film presentations,


Maidford Village Church Fete


This is one of our major events in the village and is held in June each year. This year the Fete is usually around the 2nd Saturday in June.

A great time where the village comes together to put on an old traditional village fete, with an orchestra, Morris men, traditional games like skittles coconut shy, along with stalls, teas and cakes etc.

We are always pleased to welcome anyone who wishes to lend a hand be it running a stall or game to behind the scenes, setting up and taking down, washing up, selling raffle tickets…… If you would like to help in anyway please contact Jane Baker, Townsend House, Townsend.
